Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Scrollrs, a social Screen Time game operated by Kien Ton, an individual sole proprietor in the United States, collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the app and the hosted legal pages.
We collect information in a few different ways: directly from you when you create an account, edit your profile, send friend requests, make purchases, enable notifications, or contact us; automatically through the operation of the app and backend when you use gameplay, wallet, social, or notification features; and from service providers or platforms involved in authentication, purchases, notifications, and hosting, such as Apple, Google, Firebase, and RevenueCat.
1. Information we collect
Account and sign-in information
- Firebase user ID
- Email address when available from your chosen sign-in method
- Sign-in provider details needed to authenticate you through Apple, Google, or email/password
Profile and social information
- Username, lowercase username, and avatar or thumb color choice
- Public profile state, including whether your profile is searchable
- Friend requests, accepted friendships, blocked relationships, and related timestamps
- Item effect events involving your account
- Moderation reports you submit or receive, including reported usernames, report reason details, optional notes you choose to add, review status, and related timestamps
Gameplay and wallet information
- Wallet balance, inventory summary, and coin ledger records
- Daily score and checkpoint records, including aggregate raw tracked minutes, adjustment minutes, effective minutes, day, threshold, context, installation, reward state, reward counters, and reset buckets
- Notification settings stored on your account and whether Screen Time setup is complete
Screen Time information
- On your device: your selected app list, FamilyActivitySelection data, and local Screen Time setup metadata are stored locally in the app group used by Scrollrs.
- Sent to the backend: For gameplay, Scrollrs may upload aggregate tracked-minute totals and related scoring/checkpoint metadata, such as day, threshold, context, installation, and reward state.
- Scrollrs does not upload your selected app list, app tokens, or raw per-app Screen Time history.
Purchase and transaction information
- Purchased product identifiers

- Store environment, currency, and price data included in RevenueCat webhook events
- Fulfillment records used to grant coins and keep wallet state accurate
Notification and device information

Support communications
- If you contact us, we may collect your email address and the contents of your message or request.
- If you report abuse from inside the app, optional report notes are used for safety review and are visible only to moderation/admin review, not to other users or the public.
2. How we use information
We use information we collect to create and maintain your account, authenticate sign-in, let you set up and display your profile, support username search and friend flows, sync gameplay state and compute rewards, manage wallet and inventory, process purchases, send limited push notifications, review moderation reports, abuse reports, and unsafe username reports, secure the service, investigate abuse, and respond to support or privacy requests.
3. How information is shared
With other Scrollrs users
- Your username, avatar color, and searchable public profile may be visible to other signed-in Scrollrs users.
- Accepted friends can see your current ranking-related gameplay state in shared home snapshots, including tracked-minute totals, modifier-adjusted score state, and winner results.
- Users affected by a social action may see limited context such as the acting username, item name, or friendship status.
With service providers and platform partners
- Firebase provides authentication, database, cloud functions, messaging, and hosting infrastructure.
- Apple provides App Store billing, Screen Time permissions and APIs, and APNs notification delivery.
- Google may provide sign-in information if you use Google Sign-In.
- RevenueCat helps manage purchase events and webhook-based coin fulfillment.
- When third-party service providers process data for Scrollrs, we require and expect them to protect data in a manner reasonably consistent with this policy, their contractual obligations, and applicable law.
For legal and operational reasons
We may disclose information if reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce our terms, protect users or Scrollrs, investigate fraud or abuse, or support a business transfer or restructuring.
4. What stays local and what Scrollrs does not sync in the current MVP
The current MVP is designed so your selected app list, app tokens, FamilyActivitySelection data, and raw per-app Screen Time history stay on your device. For gameplay, Scrollrs may upload aggregate tracked-minute totals and related scoring/checkpoint metadata, such as day, threshold, context, installation, and reward state. Scrollrs does not send the full selected-app token set, raw per-app browsing history, message contents, contact lists, photo library data, microphone data, camera data, or location data to Firebase as part of the implemented MVP game loop.
5. Data retention
- Account, profile, friendship, wallet, and inventory data are generally kept until you delete your account or we no longer need the data for service operation.
- Daily score documents are configured with an expiration window of about 120 days.
- Device-token records are kept until notifications are disabled, the token becomes invalid, you sign out, or you delete your account.
- Local Screen Time selections stay on your device until you reset Screen Time setup or remove the app's local data.
- Moderation reports and optional report notes may be retained while needed for safety review, abuse prevention, dispute handling, or enforcement.
- Purchase and fulfillment records, including transaction identifiers, product identifiers, price or currency details, webhook event identifiers, and related ledger entries, may be retained when needed for accounting, refunds, chargebacks, duplicate-fulfillment prevention, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal compliance.
- Security, anti-fraud, rate-limit, abuse-prevention, and moderation records may be retained when reasonably necessary to protect users, enforce our terms, investigate abuse, preserve reviewed report history, or comply with law.
- Deleted-account records may be kept in limited form, such as deletion timestamps, provider identifiers or hashes when legally appropriate, and deleted-user tombstones used for security, abuse monitoring, or operational integrity.
- Deleted usernames are reserved after account deletion for the MVP and may be reserved indefinitely unless Scrollrs later adopts a different username reuse policy.
- Retained records are deleted, anonymized, or marked as deleted where practical, but some identifiers may remain when needed for the purposes listed above.
6. Your choices and rights
- You can edit your username and avatar color in the app.
- You can sign out or delete your account from the app.
- You can reset local Screen Time setup from the app.
- You can revoke Screen Time permission or notification permission in iOS settings.
Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of personal information we hold about you. You can contact us at the email below to make a request. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Deleting your Scrollrs account is intended to remove backend account records tied to your Scrollrs account. However:
- Third-party providers may keep their own records under their own policies.
- We may retain limited records when reasonably necessary for legal compliance, accounting, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, security, or enforcement.
- Retained moderation records may continue to show that a deleted or banned account was involved in a reviewed report, with the account marked as deleted or anonymized where practical.
- Deleting your Scrollrs account does not itself delete your Apple, Google, Firebase, or RevenueCat account or records outside our control.
7. International use
Scrollrs is operated from the United States. If you use Scrollrs from outside the United States, you understand that information may be processed and stored in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate, subject to applicable law.
8. Children
Scrollrs is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Scrollrs, contact us and we will work to address the issue.
9. No sale or third-party advertising
Scrollrs does not sell your personal information. Scrollrs also does not use your personal information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking as part of the current MVP described in this policy.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and administrative steps to protect account and gameplay data, but no service can guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your device and sign-in access secure.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the revised version on the Scrollrs legal site and update the date above.
